Medication Management
&
Psychiatric Evaluation
Support for managing mental health with or without medication.
How we help
This specialized care is designed for adults and adolescents, or parents seeking dedicated support for their teen, who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck. It is for those who want to thoughtfully explore whether medication is the right tool for their journey, and who value a highly personalized treatment program over a rigid, "one-size-fits-all" approach.
Your First Visit
We start with a face-to-face meeting at our Chico office to truly connect. This first visit is a deep, unhurried conversation about your story and history. Together, we’ll explore what’s happening and co-create a personalized plan tailored entirely to your life and goals.
Ongoing Care
Once we’re established, your care fits seamlessly into your life with your choice of in-person or virtual visits. We’ll connect for regular medication check-ins to see how you’re feeling, keeping your provider by your side to adjust your care as you evolve, progress, and heal.
Telepsychiatry & Online Care
Expert mental health care, delivered securely to your screen.
Healing is easier when support is truly accessible. Individuals across California and Washington can connect with licensed providers for secure, face-to-face telepsychiatry and virtual therapy right from the comfort of home.
Sessions are billed exactly like an in-office visit through insurance, with most private plans accepted and no hidden fees or up-charges. To get started, simply download the Zoom app the day before your first appointment, and you'll be completely set for clinical care brought straight to your screen. (The front desk is always available to help talk through any technical snags.)

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Medication management is an ongoing psychiatric service where a board-certified psychiatrist evaluates your symptoms, prescribes and monitors psychiatric medications, and adjusts your treatment plan over time. It's not just about writing a prescription, it includes reviewing how medications are working, managing side effects, and coordinating with your other providers.
-
We treat a broad range of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, schizophrenia, and other mood and thought disorders.
-
Medication management appointments are focused on psychiatric evaluation and medication oversight, not talk therapy. If therapy is something you're looking for, we can discuss referral options or coordinate with an outside therapist you're already working with.
-
Initial evaluations are approximately 45–60 minutes and are conducted in person. Follow-up appointments are 20 minutes and can be done in person or via telehealth.
-
Yes. Follow-up appointments are available via telehealth for established patients. Your initial evaluation must be completed in person, and we require at least one in-office visit to establish care.
-
Contact our office as soon as possible. We may be able to bridge you depending on the medication and your history with us. Controlled substances generally cannot be refilled early or outside of scheduled appointments. Our office will complete your request within 72 hours, so it's best practice to call ahead for refills.
-
You're welcome to share what you've tried before and what's worked or hasn't, that information is genuinely helpful. Ultimately, your provider makes prescribing decisions based on your full clinical picture, not patient request alone.
-
Yes. With your written consent, we're happy to communicate with your therapist, PCP, or other treating providers to make sure everyone is aligned on your care.
-
It depends on where you are in treatment. New patients and those starting a new medication are typically seen more frequently at first. Once you're stable, visits may shift to every 2–3 months. Your provider determines the cadence based on your clinical picture.
-
Call our office at (530) 899-3150. We have a triage process in place for urgent clinical needs and will work to get you seen or connected with your provider as quickly as possible. If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please call 988 or go to your nearest emergency room.
-
This is handled on a case-by-case basis. Certain medications, including stimulants for ADHD and benzodiazepines, are controlled substances that require additional oversight. Your provider will evaluate whether they're appropriate for your situation and discuss what monitoring is involved.
-
No. Our providers focus exclusively on psychiatric care.
-
In many cases, yes. We'll conduct a full evaluation first to understand your history before continuing or modifying any existing medication regimen.
-
We accept most major commercial insurance plans. A full list of accepted insurers is available on our website. Please note that we do not accept Medi-Cal or Partnership HealthPlan. We recommend verifying your benefits before your first appointment, our front office is happy to help.
